  • Are Linen's provided at my Rental?
Linens are not a standard amenity, but Stress Less is a Signature Property where Linens are Provided FREE with this Home!
  • Can you drink the tap water?
Many parts of the Outer Banks especially in older homes may NOT be hooked up to the town water supply and it could have an odd smell or yellow tint. This is mostly do to high iron content and being unfiltered. Our water is provided by Dare County, so it is safe to drink. In addition we have a water filtration system built into the kitchen refrigerator. We always recommend drinking the water from that but for cooking or brushing your teeth the house water is completely fine. Do not drink the water from the sprinklers, pools or hot tub.
  • How can I tell if the pool heater is working?
Our pool water typically runs between 78 and 82 degrees. During prime summer months it may run warmer due to the average external temperatures and the reverse holds true when the temperature is cooler overnight. Colder weather may cause the pool to take longer to heat up throughout the day. Even though the temperature is typically set at 82 degrees the external factors may prevent the pool from reaching an ideal temperature at all times.
  • Check-in and Checkout Procedures
OBX Adventures will assist with your Check-in and Check-out based on your specified itinerary. If you're booking during the season and staying with us through Resort Realty the check-in guide is below. Check-in begins at 4:00PM, not available for earlier check-in You can pick up your keys at the designated office listed on your pre-arrival email. Your designed office is Kitty Hawk: 4575-5402. Your home is also keyless entry, you will be assigned a numeric code and you may travel directly to the property to check-in. Check-out is at 10:00AM on the day of departure You can check out by calling Resort Realty at (800) 458-3830 if you have keyless entry Additional FAQ's can be found on the Resort Realty Website: https://www.resortrealty.com/faqs/
  • How does Keyless Entry Work?
Keyless entry allows you to open and lock your vacation home by entering a numeric code. Your keyless entry code will be sent to you a week prior to your vacation in your pre-arrival email. Stress Less provides keyless entry so you can go directly to your beach house without having to check-in at an office. Keyless entry codes are activated at check-in time and expire at 10:00AM on your departure day.
  • Do I need to clean before checkout?
We ask that our guests leave the home in a similar condition as it was found. Please vacuum and sweep floors, wash all dishes and return to cabinets, remove all food and trash, and lock all doors and windows. As our rental includes linen service, you do not have to launder any bedding. If you desire, you may leave/donate any unopened, non-perishable food using the Feed NC bag provided in the home. This food will be distributed to local food banks and charities.
  • Why are there so many Bugs?
The Outer Banks is home to many insects, at your rental we installed two Full Acre DynaTrap Insect Traps to minimize the bothersome bugs. The most common of the two are midges and water bugs. Midges are often referred to as “blind mosquitoes” or “fuzzy bills”, they do not bite but can be a nuisance. They are attracted to lights and may hoard around windows and doors as well as porch and street lights. Eliminating exterior lighting at night and closing window shades will help minimize their presence.
  • Can I have a Bonfire at the Beach?
Beach fires are allowed with a permit on beaches in Nags Head and along the Cape Hatteras National Shore. Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, and Kill Devil Hills do not allow beach fires. You can obtain a permit from the Nags Head Fire Department at 5314 Croatan Highway in Nags Head after 5:00PM on the day you plan to build a fire. Small ground fires can be built within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore with a permit as long as they are below the high tide line and at least 100 feet from dune vegetation. You can receive a permit online at the National Park Service website. All fires must be attended by an adult and be properly extinguished.
  • Can I leave Beach Items on the Beach Overnight?
Beach items must be taken in daily. Resort Realty is not responsible for any personal or rental items left on the beach overnight.
